privatejet.africa is a price-comparison and introduction platform for private jet and turboprop charter across Africa. Pricing a private flight on the continent usually means emailing several operators and waiting days for numbers that are hard to compare. Our engine shows a realistic estimate for every aircraft that can fly your route in seconds, then puts you in touch with licensed operators who confirm the exact price.
What we are, and what we are not
- We are a comparison and introduction service covering all 54 African countries, more than 3,000 airports and airstrips, and 22 charter aircraft types, from bush turboprops to the Gulfstream G550.
- We are not an air carrier. We do not own or operate aircraft, and we are neither a direct nor an indirect air carrier. Every flight is arranged with and performed by a licensed third-party operator holding a valid Air Operator Certificate (AOC), which keeps full operational control of the flight and contracts with you directly.
- Our prices are estimates. The operator confirms the final price, availability and terms before you book.
How our prices are calculated
Every estimate is computed for the actual flight rather than read off a rate card:
- Which aircraft can fly it. Each aircraft type is checked against the runway length, surface and elevation at both ends and against its range. Fuel stops are added where a leg is too long.
- Flight time. Worked out from the aircraft’s cruise speed over the great-circle distance, plus climb, descent and taxi allowances.
- Hourly rate. A planning rate per occupied flight hour for each aircraft type, reviewed against real quotes from brokers and operators.
- Positioning. The empty flight from the nearest airport where that type is based, and back. In Africa this often decides the final price.
- Fees. Landing, handling and en-route navigation charges, plus crew overnight and standby costs on multi-day trips.
Route guide estimates refresh twice a day. The full method, with examples, is on How pricing works.
Where our data comes from
- Airports and runways: our airport database is built from OurAirports, an open dataset, and covers more than 3,000 African airports and airstrips with runway length and surface.
- Aircraft: per-type performance figures — cruise speed, climb and descent allowances, range, minimum runway, fuel burn and seating — for the 22 types most used for charter in Africa.
- Operator bases: where each aircraft type is stationed across Africa, researched from public operator information and updated as fleets change.
- Market prices: hourly rates are checked against real broker and operator quotes on an ongoing basis.
How a flight gets booked
When you send an enquiry, we pass your route, dates, passenger numbers and contact details to licensed operators and brokers who cover that region. They check aircraft availability and send a firm quote, and you contract with the operator directly. You do not need an account to search or to send an enquiry.
Editorial standards
- Guides are written and reviewed by the privatejet.africa team. Prices on the site come from our own engine, not from other companies’ published ranges.
- Pages show live estimates wherever prices matter, so the figures stay current.
- Found something wrong? Tell us through the Support page and we will correct it.
