Abuja sits inland at about 1,120 ft, well away from the coastal humidity that shapes Lagos. The wet season runs from roughly April to October, with convective afternoon storms that favour morning departures. The dry season from November to March is the settled window.
The harmattan is more pronounced here than on the coast. From December to February, Saharan dust can reduce visibility significantly at Abuja and more severely still at Kano and Kaduna further north, and it is a routine cause of morning delays on those sectors during those weeks.
