Private jet charter from Victoria Falls: live estimates by route, based light fleet and seasonal timing.
Victoria Falls International (FVFA/VFA) is a pure tourism airport, and an unusually well-equipped one. Its runway was extended to over 13,000 ft, which means it handles aircraft far larger than the destination itself requires — useful, because a good deal of traffic arrives directly from long distances rather than connecting through Harare or Johannesburg.
What makes Victoria Falls valuable as a departure point is what sits within a short flight of it. Hwange, Chobe and Kasane, the Okavango via Maun, Livingstone across the Zambian border, and the Lower Zambezi are all close. Three light types are based here in our fleet data, which is what those sectors need — short legs into strips that jets cannot use.
For visitors this means a Victoria Falls arrival can be the start of a multi-country safari circuit rather than a single destination, and the based fleet makes that considerably cheaper than positioning aircraft in for each leg.
Live whole-aircraft estimates, cheapest suitable aircraft on each sector, including the positioning leg. Figures refresh with the fleet and airport data behind them.

Types with a home base at FVFA in our fleet data. Departing on a based aircraft avoids the empty positioning leg, which is the single biggest saving available on a short sector.
Victoria Falls has two peaks that do not coincide, and choosing between them matters. The falls themselves are at their most dramatic from February to May, after the Zambezi’s rainy season, when the spray is visible for kilometres. By October the flow is at its lowest and large sections of rock face are exposed.
Game viewing runs the other way. The dry months from August to October concentrate animals around water and are the best for Hwange and Chobe. If wildlife is the priority, come in the dry season and accept a quieter waterfall; if the falls are the point, come in April.
Victoria Falls sits at about 3,490 ft, enough to matter on a hot afternoon but easily absorbed given the runway length. Zimbabwe requires landing permission for foreign-registered aircraft in working days, and the cross-border hops to Zambia and Botswana each need their own. These are well-trodden routes and the process is routine, but it is still paperwork and still needs lead time.
Across the 4 routes priced on this page, whole-aircraft estimates run from about US$1,500 on the shortest sector to US$6,400 on the longest. Charter is priced per aircraft rather than per seat, so the cost is the same whether one person travels or the cabin is full, and the positioning leg flown to collect you is included in every figure shown.
Charter flights use Victoria Falls International Airport (FVFA / VFA), with a longest runway of 13,123 ft at 3,490 ft elevation. Private departures are handled through the general aviation terminal or an FBO where one operates, which is a considerably faster process than the main passenger terminal.
Our fleet data shows 3 types based at FVFA: Cessna 206 Stationair, King Air C90GTx, Cessna Grand Caravan EX. A based aircraft does not have to fly an empty leg to reach you, so quotes on these types are usually materially cheaper than the same trip on an aircraft positioning in from another country.
The longest route priced here is Victoria Falls to Vilanculos at 584 NM. Whether a given sector is flown non-stop depends on the aircraft: light jets and turboprops will need a technical stop on longer legs, while a heavy or ultra-long-range type will fly it directly. The aircraft list on each route page shows which types clear the distance.
Twenty-four to forty-eight hours is comfortable for a domestic or regional trip when a suitable aircraft is already nearby. Cross-border flights need longer, because overflight and landing permits in several African states are issued in working days rather than hours, and a weekend or public holiday in the destination country can add a day. Same-day departures are possible but depend entirely on what is already positioned within reach.
