Nairobi to Tsavo by Private Charter

Guide to Nairobi–Tsavo private charter flights, including Wilson Airport, Tsavo East and West access, aircraft choices, baggage, transfers and pricing.

Kenya safari corridor

Nairobi → Tsavo: a short flight can replace a long road day.

Tsavo is enormous, so the useful question is not simply “fly to Tsavo?” For this reference route we use Wilson → Kilaguni, a central Tsavo West airstrip, but Tsavo East and other lodges can require a different endpoint.

Tsavo East and Tsavo West are not interchangeable

Get the lodge first. A Tsavo West airstrip can be a poor choice for a Tsavo East lodge even though both destinations are called “Tsavo.”

Which aircraft fits?

Caravan-type

Simple, practical safari aircraft.

PC-12-type

More premium cabin with strong airstrip flexibility.

King Air-type

Twin-engine option for private groups.

Why fly rather than drive?

Tsavo is reachable by road, but a private flight becomes attractive when the safari is short, when children are travelling, or when the itinerary combines Tsavo with another remote stop or the coast.

Questions travellers actually ask

Is Kilaguni the airport for all of Tsavo?

No. It is a useful Tsavo West gateway; other lodges and Tsavo East itineraries can require different strips.

Can I continue to the coast?

Yes, subject to aircraft and destination airport availability. Tsavo can fit naturally into a safari-and-beach sequence.

Is a jet useful here?

Usually a turboprop is the more practical aircraft for a short safari-airstrip mission.
