A monthly benchmark of what private jet charter costs in Africa, built from live engine estimates on every route we cover. Free to cite and download.
The Africa Private Jet Price Index tracks what private charter actually costs across the continent. We price every route we cover for four passengers, one-way, in every jet and turboprop that can fly it, and publish the cheapest suitable aircraft and the cheapest jet for each route. The figures update continuously from our pricing engine, and a monthly snapshot builds the history.
October 2026 edition. Updated 30 October 2026 from the privatejet.africa pricing engine. Whole-aircraft one-way estimates in US dollars, including positioning, airport and navigation fees.
Sixteen of the continent’s busiest private routes, tracked every month. Change is against the previous monthly snapshot.

On these routes most of the price is the empty flight that brings the aircraft from its base. More aircraft based nearby, or an empty leg, would cut the price sharply.

Across the 350 routes in the October 2026 Africa Private Jet Price Index, the median one-way estimate is US$15,800 for four passengers in the cheapest suitable aircraft, and US$22,550 in the cheapest jet. Hourly planning rates run from US$1,400 for a turboprop to US$11,500 for the largest jets, before fees and positioning.
Of the routes we track, Dar es Salaam to Kilimanjaro is the cheapest at US$3,400 one-way in a Cessna Grand Caravan EX (1h 48m in the air), as of October 2026.
Of the routes we track, Johannesburg to Dakar is the most expensive at US$109,000 one-way for four passengers, in a Challenger 350 (9h 49m in the air), as of October 2026.
Routes with about an hour in the air (45 to 75 minutes) have a median one-way estimate of US$10,150 for four passengers, across 40 tracked routes. Positioning the aircraft from its base can add significantly where none is based nearby.
Among departure countries with at least five tracked routes, Botswana has the lowest median one-way estimate (US$4,600) and Mauritius the highest (US$47,700). Route length and where aircraft are based explain most of the gap.
Each route is priced by the privatejet.africa engine for four passengers, one-way, in every jet and turboprop that can fly it, using flight time from real aircraft performance, fuel, airport and navigation fees, and the positioning flight from the nearest base. The index reports the cheapest suitable aircraft and the cheapest jet per route, refreshes continuously and is snapshotted monthly.
